Movie Screening - “Modified”
with guest speaker Mackenzie Feldman
Thursday, April 25, 2019 Cultivate Community Food Cooperative, Inc. presents the award-winning documentary, ‘Modified’ at the Empress Theatre in Vallejo. Doors open at 6:30 pm, Movie begins at 7:30pm.
Modified has screened at over 40 international film festivals, receiving 13 awards, including 3 Audience Choice awards. World-renowned chef Jacques Pépin calls the film “a very personal, tender, touching tribute and a well-researched, enlightening and powerful documentary”.
About the event: This will be an evening you won’t want to miss. Prior to the movie, we will have food (featured in the movie) for purchase (cash only). Joining us for a lively discussion after the movie will be Stacy Malkan, the Co-Founder and Co-Director of US Right To Know, a nonprofit research group working for transparency and accountability in our food system. Also joining the panel is Mackenzie Feldman, Founder of Herbicide Free UC, whose mission it is to stop the use of toxic herbicides across all University of California campuses, and Paula Schnese, Founder of Cultivate Community Food Cooperative, Inc.
